NANAIMO — Only a day after installing Nanaimo’s newest piece of civic art without the second “A,” City crews now appear to have made things worse.
Within hours of the Nanaimo Beacon publishing the story about the misinstallation, public works crews scrambled to disassemble the entire piece, and reassemble it — this time, with all the letters.
Problem is, they have installed all letters backwards.
“Honestly, I’m not even sure how we managed to screw this up,” bemoaned Nanaimo’s director of public art Mitch Forrest. “For what it’s worth, the As and the I are still the right way around no matter which way we installed it.”
