BC Ferries “new services” survey concerns local residents

NANAIMO — BC Ferries is seeking community input on the services it will offer on its five new ferries, the first of which will begin running in 2023.

But not everyone is thrilled with the options on the survey. Local resident Nick Mason says the questions of “offensive” and “shocking.”

The Beacon accessed the survey and found these questions, among others:

BC Ferries says it promises to read, then ignore, the results of the survey.

The new vessels are expected to be in service for up to 45 years, and will replace the current ships on major Island routes.
