Citing a lower budget for this year’s fire service, Errington fire chief Dave McDavovich says he apologies for the typographical error on the fire warning sign.
“We only had enough in the sign budget for 23 letters, so we dropped Z, P, and, unfortunately, L,” McDavovich told The Beacon. “We actually meant to drop Q but there was a miscommunication.”
The sign, which now references a phallic instruction, will be changed to read “Fire Tips,” but, owing to the lack of any P letters, McDavovich says the department will simply use a second T in place of the P in the last word.
The Nanaimo Beacon would like to remind readers that we have been typo-free sinec 2019.
